Mapping interaction network of human phosphatases

Abstract: Phosphatases play a crucial role in biological functions and controls nearly every cellular process, including metabolism, gene transcription, translation, cell-cycle progression, protein stability, signal transduction, and apoptosis. However, the functional map of all human phosphatases and their interactome is not fully available. By using a biochemical purification followed by proteomic analysis, our lab has established the interaction network of nearly every human protein phosphatase in the cell. We found phosphatases associated with the components of varied cellular processes. Our work on some of the new functional phosphatase interactions would be discussed
